Eljif Elmas could start upfront for Napoli against Milan

Napoli could start Eljif Elmas in a false nine role in today’s Champions League quarter-final first leg against Milan.

Victor Osimhen had sustained a thigh injury after the international break and he has not featured for the club since then, with the Partenopei having struggled for goals since then. Giovanni Simeone is also out injured, with the Argentine expected to be out for about half a month. He too will miss the game against Milan.

Il Mattino have reported that while Giacomo Raspadori is fit, he isn’t in the best of conditions to start today. Elmas, as a result, could be expected to start upfront in a false nine role. It has been reported recently that Elmas has trained upfront in recent days and that could help in him playing upfront today.

Elmas has made eight Champions League appearances this season and in the Serie A, he has contributed to eight goals and six of them have been goals so far.
