Italy and Leeds United star Wilfried Gnonto is now edging close to staying in the Premier League next season.
Sky Italia state that Everton are making progress in their move for the teenager, who impressed for the Whites last season and they are now close to sealing a move for the Azzurri winger.
Gnonto had joined Leeds from Swiss side Zurich last summer on deadline day and has sparkled in a limited period of time in the Premier League. The 19-year-old played 24 games in the top flight, scoring twice and assisting four times. Remarkably, he scored against Manchester United at Old Trafford in what was an impressive performance.
For Italy, Gnonto has already featured 12 times and has racked up one goal and two assists at a tender age. German side Freiburg have been linked with him in recent weeks as well but it seems as if Everton are well in the driving seat for the teenager.
