From Balogun to Morata, Inter’s short-list of potential strikers

Following the breakdown in negotiations between Belgian international Romelu Lukaku and the Nerazzurri, Inter have a wide range of potential strikers within their short-list for the summer market.

As a result of the 30 year-old Chelsea striker having held negotiation talks with bitter rivals Juventus behind the scenes, the Beneamata are infuriated, causing them to shift their focus on other names in order to reinforce the front-line.

Sky journalist Gianluca Di Marzio reports that former Juventus striker Alvaro Morata is considered a primary target as the Spaniard has already played within the Serie A in the past.

The Nerazzurri would be prepared to offer €15m for the 30 year-old, whilst La Liga giants Atletico Madrid are seeking a fee of €20m in order to willingly let him go before his contract expires next summer.

In addition, another name high within the list of ideal alternatives to Lukaku is Arsenal and USA international youngster Florian Balogun, whom has had an incredible loan spell at Reims last season, as he attained a total of 21 goals in 37 matches across all competitions.

Inter would be set to offer a hefty €40m fee for the 22 year-old, whilst Arsenal are demanding an offer within the region of €55m-€60m.

Moreover, a third option Inzaghi’s side are considering is Udinese marksman Beto. As it stands, Udinese are requesting a transfer fee between €25m-€30m for the 25 year-old Portuguese forward, whom has amassed ten goals and one assist in 33 games-played within the domestic league last year.

Finally, a name that still remains is Porto’s Mehdi Taremi, who seems to be nearing towards a move to cross-city rivals Milan after having reached a personal agreement with the Rossonerri.
