Inter boss Simone Inzaghi on Romelu Lukaku after Udinese win: “We have great faith in him”

Inter boss Simone Inzaghi has stated that the club has great faith in Romelu Lukaku, after his goal against Udinese.

The Belgian had initially missed a penalty but Marco Silvestri had come off his line, which meant that the penalty had to taken again. Lukaku hammered it home and it was his first goal in 2023.

While things have not been going too well for the striker, the goal would have provided some confidence to the player – especially at a time when there has been talk about his future maybe lying away from the club and that he could return to Chelsea.

Inzaghi spoke to Sky Italia (via TMW) after the win over Udinese and he gave his views about Lukaku, saying: “He’s improving every day, match after match and training after training. We have great faith in him. He’s putting all his effort into it, he had some problems in London and suffered a very prominent injury. I’m struggling to give a number, but he can grow. The matches will make him find the best condition again.”

There has been talk about fitness issues for Lukaku that prevent him from playing as much as he would like and he has to undergo more massage to play for the side. But Inzaghi’s words are certainly positive.
