Inter identify three potential Milan Škriniar replacements

Inter have identified three potential replacements for Milan Škriniar, who is set to join Paris Saint-Germain next summer on a free transfer.

Škriniar’s loss is expected to be a prominent one of the Nerazzurri, who are seeking replacements in the market. La Gazzetta dello Sport claim that the most likely candidate to replace the ex-Sampdoria man is Merih Demiral. Contacts with Atalanta have been frequent and there is a mutual agreement that the Turk would cost over €20 million.

The crux of the move was the terms of the transfer. In January, Inter could not commit to guarantee a permanent move. Atalanta wanted a permanent exit or the guarantee of one in the summer after an initial loan. But even though Nottingham Forest are interested, Inter see Demiral as the ideal replacement for Škriniar and they well ahead in the chase.

Another option is Iñigo Martinez, who is expected to leave Athletic Bilbao in the summer. While the Spaniard has given his word to Barcelona regarding moving the Nou Camp, it depends on their financial situation.

But another option is likely to be Oumar Soulet, who is currently plying his trade with Salzburg. He is valued at €15 million but Inter are likely to reduce the asking price – as they do in every negotiation.
