Inter seek discount from Chelsea in new Romelu Lukaku deal

Inter are now looking to sign Romelu Lukaku on a new deal but they are seeking a discount from Chelsea.

La Gazzetta dello Sport have reported that Inter have made new contact with Sebastien Ledure, the lawyer who closely follows the Belgian’s interests and who was decisive in last summer’s return to the Nerazzurri. A meeting with Chelsea is also expected to take place after the Champions League ties against Porto.

That meeting therefore, is expected in the second half of March and after that, the picture around Lukaku’s future will become clearer. Inter believe that they need atleast one striker of an international profile and the name of Roberto Firmino has already crossed the Nerazzurri’s minds but Lukaku is their priority.

The Belgian does not want to depart the club, who also don’t want to let him go. Lukaku has to show that he has put physical issues behind him and there is optimism in that regard. With Chelsea, Inter would like to renew the loan deal.

The current loan deal costs Inter €8 million plus €3 million in bonuses and Inter want to reduce that because of the striker’s fitness issues. That is why they’re seeking Ledure’s help. They will also rely on the good relations between the two clubs, which were strengthened by the move involving Cesare Casadei.
