Inter to make summer move for Barcelona’s Franck Kessie with player keen

Inter are expected to make a move for Barcelona midfielder Franck Kessie in the summer, with the player keen on a return to Milan.

La Gazzetta dello Sport reported about the Ivorian midfielder late last night, stating that the summer could be the right time for the player to arrive at Inter. Steven Zhang is looking to restructure the Inter midfield in the summer and plans are being made about how to go about it.

Recent contacts have been made between Inter and the player’s entourage. It was the player’s agent who called Inter, who are keen on exploring the opportunity of signing Kessie after a potential swap deal involving him and Marcelo Brozovic failed to take off in January.

In the summer, a different sort of negotiation could take off and it may not involve a swap deal involving their Croatian midfielder. Inter will look to offer an initial loan deal with the option to buy him permanently for around €30 million. While the fact that his contract runs out in 2026 can complicate a potential move, Kessie’s agent is expected to pull some strings in the market in an attempt to make a transfer back to Italy possible.
