Italy’s law enforcement agency investigating stabbing of Newcastle fan ahead of Milan clash

Italy’s law enforcement agency – Digos, is currently investigating the stabbing of a Newcastle fan ahead of the Magpies’ Champions League group stage game against Milan.

Sky Italia report that a 58-year-old Newcastle fan was stabbed around midnight by a group of seven or eight people while he and a friend were between via Segantini and via Gola in Milan.

He received a stab wound in the back and two in the arms. A police car intervened and the man was then taken to the Polyclinic hospital, where he was not reported to be in serious condition. Digos is investigating the incident but at the moment it is not possible to establish whether the man was attacked for football reasons or for other reasons.

The attackers have been described as ‘hooded boys’ and they had approached him on a scooter and thankfully, the 58-year-old is not in a serious condition.
