Jose Mourinho to clarify Roma future after Europa League final

Jose Mourinho has reportedly promised to provide clarification of his future at Roma after the Europa League final.

According to a report from Il Messaggero, Roma boss Jose Mourinho will make a decision about his future after the final against Sevilla. He gave a comprehensive interview following his team’s 2-2 draw with Salernitana. While the Portuguese manager talked about the FFP measures against his side and reviewed the season, he also gave a subtle indication about his future in Rome.

Jose Mourinho has developed a wonderful relationship with the Giallorossi fans as he led them to European glory by winning the Conference League in its inaugural season. It was the first major trophy for Roma since they won the Coppa Italia in 2007-08.

The relationship between General Manager Tiago Pinto and Jose Mourinho has been a confusing one. Even though the coach pointed out that they were “close friends” but indicated at them having “different opinions”, amidst reports stating that their relationship is not great anymore.

Clinching the Europa League would mean a huge financial boost for Roma as they will qualify for next season’s Champions League but if Mourinho leaves, it would leave a wound on the club as the job he has done over the past year has been commendable.
