Juventus challenge Inter for Lille’s Tiago Djaló

An update on the winter plans of the transfer team at Juventus has been provided on Wednesday.

It is of course common knowledge that Cristiano Giuntoli and co. intend to add fresh blood to Massimiliano Allegri’s squad with a view to the 2nd half of the term.

The Bianconeri’s priority is adding a new midfielder, owing to the long-term bans handed down to both Paul Pogba, and Nicolò Fagioli.

A move for prime target Teun Koopmeiners looks unlikely, though, with TuttomercatoWeb, citing Sky, having confirmed that Atalanta have no intention of parting with the Dutch international.

Premier League pair Kalvin Phillips and Pierre-Emile Højbjerg therefore represent the most realistic engine room reinforcements in Turin.

Turning attentions elsewhere, Juve are also eyeing additions at the back, ahead of the imminent loan departure of Dean Huijsen, and expected summer exit of Alex Sandro.

And TMW go on to suggest that Lille standout Tiago Djaló has made his way to the top of the Old Lady’s wishlist.

Stopper Djaló has long been tipped for a Serie A switch, amid ongoing negotiations with Inter Milan, over a free transfer in the summer of 2024.

But Allegri and his team appear keen to throw a spanner in the plans of their Scudetto rivals, ready to offer up a fee to Lille next month, in a bid to beat out Inter’s competition for the signature of the former Milan man.
