Juventus expected to be handed new points deduction today

There is a general expectation that Juventus will be handed a new points deduction for their capital gains irregularities today.

Sky Italia have reported in detail about the situation, stating that the hearing for the re-evaluation of Juventus’ capital gains case is taking place at the FIGC’s Federal Court of Appeal. The 15 points penalty on the club was removed after the Bianconeri appealed but it was referred to the FIGC’s higher court.

Because of Juventus’ appeal, the bans imposed on Pavel Nedved was removed but the bans on Andrea Agnelli, Fabio Paratici, Maurizio Arrivabene and Federico Cherubini had stayed. The reasons for Juventus’ 15-points deduction were also revealed by CONI before the club appealed later.

The trial for re-evaluation today will start at 10am local time and it will be done remotely. There is an expectation that a 12-point deduction will be announced and because of that, the Bianconeri will finish as low as eighth in the table and will not qualify for European football.
