Juventus handed 10 points deduction in capital gains case

Serie A giants Juventus have been handed a new points deduction sentence, after the trial for the re-evaluation of their capital gains case took place today.

The Bianconeri’s points deduction was removed after a successful appeal not too long ago, as they were initially handed a 15-points deduction. But the case was then referred to the FIGC Court of Appeals for a final decision and it has now arrived, as the trial took place remotely today.

They have been handed a deduction of 10 points – close to something that FIGC Prosecutor Giuseppe Chine had initially recommended. He had suggested that an 11-point deduction be handed to the Old Lady.

The deduction means that Juve now have 59 points in the Serie A table and while they are still in the race for the top four, the chances of making it to the Champions League now look bleak.

The Old Lady take on Empoli later today and a win could take them five points behind Inter, who are occupying fourth. A win could also potentially take them above Roma, if they fail to win their game today.
