Juventus open talks with camp of Atletico Madrid’s Rodrigo De Paul

The powers that be at Juventus have opened formal talks with the entourage of Atlético Madrid star Rodrigo De Paul, over the possibility of a January move to the club.

It is of course common knowledge that Juve are on the lookout for engine room reinforcements ahead of the 2nd half of the campaign. Having lost Paul Pogba and Nicolò Fagioli to respective bans, Massimiliano Allegri’s squad is in need of more depth in midfield, amid an ongoing push for the Scudetto.

To this point, a whole host of names have been tipped to make the move to Turin, from Lazar Samardzic to Pierre-Emile Højbjerg to Kalvin Phillips.

As alluded to above, though, on Wednesday, it is another who has taken his place front and centre in the headlines at the Allianz Stadium.

As per a report from transfer journalist Nicolò Schira, Juventus held discussions with Agustin Jimenez, De Paul’s agent, over the last couple of days.

The Argentine is said to be unsatisfied with his role in Madrid, and therefore potentially open to a winter move away from the Wanda Metropolitano.

Juve, for their part, would be keen to negotiate an initial loan, with option to buy in the summer.
