Juventus will play their first game of the Serie A season on Monday, against Udinese. The fixture may be too soon for French star Paul Pogba to make his return from injury, although there is an outside chance that it may be possible.
After Udinese, Juventus face up against Bologna, and that has been earmarked as the game that Pogba could make his long-awaited return from the sidelines, Gazzetta have reported. The Frenchman has been working since July 3 to put himself back in the frame of playing, after a tough season that only allowed him to contribute 160 minutes of time on the pitch for Juve.
The decision on Pogba’s return will be made in the coming days. It will come down to a series of evaluations that Allegri will do with some staff, people who have been following the Frenchman since his return. The midfielder’s comeback would be a huge boost for the Old Lady, and could signal the start of a positive season.
