Juventus pressing in attempts for Manchester City’s Kalvin Phillips

Serie A giants Juventus are now pressing in their attempts to land Manchester City midfielder Kalvin Phillips.

The Bianconeri are in need of signing a midfielder in January, with Nicolo Fagioli and Paul Pogba suspended due to illegal betting and doping respectively. A host of names have been linked with the Old Lady but it looks as if Phillips is the priority for the club.

Marco Conterio has confirmed what was reported yesterday – Juve and City are holding talks about the 28-year-old midfielder and now, the Old Lady are pressing in their attempts to land the England international. Talks are ongoing over the percentage of salary that Juve would to have pay to land the midfielder on a loan deal, with Phillips having given his approval to an initial temporary move.

The ex-Leeds man wants to depart the club, with Pep Guardiola not seeing him as part of the project at City. Phillips will count as EU player for Juve, as FIGC confirmed some months ago that English players will not count as non-EU players.
