Lautaro Martinezโ€™s agent on new Inter contract: โ€œCould stay at Inter for lifeโ€

The agent of Inter Milan star Lautaro Martinez has, on Wednesday, provided a major update on his clientโ€™s future with the club.

The subject of Lautaroโ€™s situation at San Siro has of course dominated the headlines on the blue half of the Milan divide of late. This comes owing to widespread reports, pointing towards the Inter brass preparing to offer their captain a new contract.

Lautaro, of course, has enjoyed a scintillating start to the new campaign, having racked up 12 goals in 12 Serie A appearances to date.

Despite his current terms lasting through 2026, it has therefore come as little surprise to hear of Beppe Marotta and co. working towards a more long-term deal, amid mounting interest in the signature of โ€˜El Toroโ€™.

And, speaking to the media on Wednesday, Lautaroโ€™s representative provided an update on the situation.

In news which will no doubt come as music to the ears of the Nerazzurri faithful, Alejandro Camano confirmed that he is locked in talks with Inter, before going as far as to admit that his client could remain at San Siro โ€˜for lifeโ€™:

โ€œI say that it is very important for me and for Lautaro that Inter is willing to listen to us for a new contract despite a contract until 2026,โ€ Camano told TvPlay, via Calciomercato.

โ€œI want to thank the club for this possibility. The important thing for me is the mentality of seeing the possibility that Lautaro could stay at Inter for life, then in football if he were to there is a good moment for another opportunity, for the player and for the clubโ€™s accounts, for both of us we will see.โ€

He continued:

โ€œThe relationship with Inter is based on trust. I am also the agent of Cuper who was the Nerazzurri coach, for me the Nerazzurri are a team with a great heart. I believe that we will reach a very good agreement good for Inter and for Lautaro. The boy is 100% focused on the team and Iโ€™m working to reach an agreement.โ€
