Following the Biancocelesti’s impressive 2-1 victory over defending Scudetto champions Napoli on the road, Lazio coach Maurizio Sarri provided his input on the significant result in a post-match interview.
Despite the Partenopei dominating for the majority of the first half, Luis Alberto seized the first goal with a magnificent back-heel flick past David Meret in courtesy of a fine centre from Felipe Anderson.
Polish midfielder Piotr Zielinski responded quickly with a screamer that deflected off a Lazio defender and trickled into the back of the net in order to level the score-line.
However, the adjustments made by Sarri in the dressing room at the break made it difficult for the Azzurri to cope defensively with the capital club.
Ultimately, former Frankfurt midfielder Daichi Kamada attained the game-winner as he buried a low-driven shot into the bottom-right corner, enabling Lazio to attain their first three points of the 2023/24 campaign.
While speaking to Lazio Style Channel, via TuttoMercatoWeb, Sarri touched upon his side’s performance and the displays of the Biancocelesti’s new arrivals within the summer market:

We were able to overcome the repercussions of two disallowed goals. Good quality of play.
