Lazio are in the market for a winger, and Maurizio Sarri is keen on Callum Hudson-Odoi, Alfredo Pedullà has reported. Sarri previously coached Hudson-Odoi when he was the manager of Chelsea. Sarri gave the young winger his first ever Premier League start and helped him in his breakthrough season.
Hudson-Odoi was on loan last season at Bayer Leverkusen, and it did him no favours. He started only seven league games, and made seven substitute appearances. The 22 year old only managed one assist and the new manager who came in midway through the season, Xabi Alonso, was not a fan of Chelsea’s youngster.
Hudson-Odoi was touted as one of the best young talents in the world when he first came through, and his potential was there for all to see. He unfortunately suffered a terrible injury in 2019, rupturing his achilles. He missed a lot of game-time, and has never truly been the same player.
Sarri clearly still sees the potential in the English winger, and wants him on a season-long loan, with a potential option to buy. Two English clubs have already come forward for the player.
