Lazio make contact for Napoli’s Matteo Politano

Lazio are keen on signing Napoli’s Matteo Politano and have made contact for the Italy international already.

Alfredo Pedulla has reported that while Maurizio Sarri’s dream signing this summer is Sassuolo star Domenico Berardi, Claudio Lotito also wants to resolve the issue on the right wing. Politano’s name is just behind Berardi’s on the Biancocelesti shortlist, as things stand. Riccardo Orsolini is also looked but he is at the bottom of the shortlist.

Contacts have taken place for Politano recently and it suggests that Lazio are ready to move on to replacements, if Sassuolo do not reduce their asking price for Berardi. Napoli currently consider Politano to be non-transferrable but they could let him leave for about €15 million plus bonuses of €2 million. The Roman outfit will now decide who they will spend their money on.

Politano won the Scudetto last season and has himself had a stint at Sassuolo, after which he joined Inter.
