Lazio refuse press conference post-Juventus loss in protest of referee

Lazio failed to build on to their win over Napoli before the international break, as Juventus beat them 3-1 in a rather convincing manner in Turin.

A Dusan Vlahovic brace and a goal by Federico Chiesa inspired Juve to an impressive win, leaving Lazio with just one win in the Serie A season so far. As per DAZN (via TMW), Lazio were initially expected to have their press conference after the game but it was later cancelled.

This was in protest of the referee Fabio Maresca, with Lazio boss Maurizio Sarri of the opinion that some wrong decisions were made by the official during the loss to the Bianconeri. The main cause of annoyance for Sarri was the first goal tthat Juve scored and he believes that the ball had actually gone out in the build-up to the goal but the referees still made sure that the goal stood.

As a result, Lazio will not say a word about a game and the side’s performance.
