Lazio’s move for Valentin Castellanos set to be delayed

Lazio were close to confirming their signing of Argentine striker Valentin Castellanos but it is now expected to be delayed.

Il Messaggero (via TMW) have reported that there is now set to be a delay in the confirmation of the move. The move is currently only delayed and not cancelled, as visa issues hover over it. He is now likely to join his Biancocelesti teammates on the 29th of July instead of this week.

Lazio did try to speeden up the process yesterday to make sure that the signing goes through fully this week but the player’s entourage is not optimistic that the visa issue will be sorted out in the next few days.

The Roman side are paying a fee of €15 million plus bonuses for the striker, who arrives from United States-based outfit New York City FC. He spent last season on loan at Girona and impressed, scoring 14 times.
