Napoli boss Luciano Spalletti has confirmed that he is leaving the Partenopei at the end of the season.
Napoli have one game to go in the season and have already sealed the Scudetto. Aurelio de Laurentiis revealed yesterday that he has already asked to depart the club and he is taking a sabbatical next season. Now, Spalletti himself has confirmed that he is looking to depart the Partenopei when the campaign ends next weekend.
Spalletti was speaking to reporters at ‘Inside the Sport 2023’ event recently and he was asked about his future at Napoli and the Italian also revealed that he is taking a sabbatical.
“Sometimes, you part ways due to too much love. I will not stay, I’m leaving. [There is] No way to change my mind. I told the club that I need an year off few weeks ago. I will not work at any other club. I’ll rest for one year.”
Napoli sealed the Scudetto after a draw away to Udinese and there are said to be numerous reasons behind Spalletti’s decision to depart. Luis Enrique is seen as a potential replacement by club chief Aurelio de Laurentiis and talks are said to be progress in that regard.
