Max Allegri confirms Paul Pogba will be fit for Sporting clash

Juventus manager Max Allegri has confirmed that midfielder Paul Pogba is fit to be in the squad for the upcoming UEFA Europa League clash against Sporting.

Pogba had sustained a muscle injury some weeks ago and he has not featured for the club since then. With the Bianconeri set to take on Sporting in the first leg of the Europa League quarter-final, Pogba looks ready to return and Allegri has confirmed that the Frenchman will be in the squad on Thursday.

Allegri stated, when asked about fitness updates ahead of the game tomorrow: “Vlahovic and Alex Sandro are available, De Sciglio is not, let’s hope we have him against Sassuolo. Pogba? We are happy, hope it gets better. He will be available tomorrow and will start from the bench.”

Pogba had picked up a knee injury during pre-season training and that had forced him to return from the camp in the United States. Instead of opting for surgery, the midfielder chose conservative therapy and this led to him missing the World Cup picking up another muscle injury.

While he did return and play 30 minutes across two games, Pogba picked up another injury more recently and he can now be expected to return soon.
