Max Allegri on Juventus points deduction: “As if they took away what you did”

Max Allegri has given his views on Juventus’ points deduction and the club’s entertaining 3-3 draw against Atalanta.

It was Juve’s first game since their 15-point deduction in Serie A and they showed good spirit to hold a freescoring Atalanta side to draw, despite going 3-2 down and 1-0 down to them in the game. Goals from Angel di Maria, Danilo and Arek Milik handed Juve a vital point in the game.

After the game, Allegri spoke about the game and the sentence and he stated that it is almost as if Juve have been stripped off something they had done hardwork for.

He told DAZN (via TMW): “These aren’t things that concern me. I’m from Livorno, there’s some fun in our irony. Let’s say I was lucky to be born in Livorno, when we are ironic we also say truths and there are those who don’t understand them. Only we could invent fake Modigliani stuff and make fun of the whole world,” he said after making fun of a light blue tie of one of the members in the TV studio.

He further stated: “You don’t need to let yourself be influenced, psychologically seeing yourself in 10th place from one day to the next is as if they took away what you did. The guys, on the other hand, were very good, as were the staff, you just have to continue with great pride how we are doing.”

The draw made sure that Juve climbed over Fiorentina in ninth and have 23 points in the bag and they are 14 points away from the fourth place and qualifying for the Champions League is expected to be a rather tricky chase. Their next game sees them take on Monza, who had beaten them in the reverse fixture.
