Milan close to signing Sevillaโ€™s Rafa Mir

Milan have given up on Patson Daka, and turned their attention to Sevillaโ€™s Rafa Mir. Sky Italia have reported that Mir has given his approval to the transfer. Now Milan must agree the details with Sevilla, and a transfer can be finalised.

The deal that is being arranged is in the form of a loan. The Spanish striker scored six La Liga goals last season, from 16 starts. The 26 year old opened his league account this season last week, in Sevillaโ€™s 4-3 loss to Deportivo Alaves.

Mir is open to leaving after seeing himself on the bench in place of Youssef En-Nesyri. Mir has not yet started a league game, and is in favour of a change in scenery in Italy. Olivier Giroud has been a very able starter for Milan thus far, but at 36 years of age the Rossoneri cannot solely rely on him. He has however made a fantastic start to the season, with three goals in the first two games.
