The powers that be at Milan have today pushed forward with their latest effort to tie star goalkeeper Mike Maignan down to a new contract.
Thatโs according to Daniele Longo, who have this evening provided an update on the future of the French international.
Maignanโs current terms at San Siro are due to expire in the summer of 2026. Despite as much, though, the Milan brass are keen to lock their no.1 down for the long-term as soon as possible, amid mounting interest in his services from across the continent.
As per Longoโs report, the Rossoneri have in turn presented an informal verbal proposal to Maignan and his representatives.
The offer in question, it is understood, comes in around the โฌ5 million-per-season mark. Maignan and his team have โhigher expectationsโ, hopeful of securing closer to โฌ7/8 million.
With both parties keen to prolong their relationship, though, confidence is high that an agreement will ultimately be found.
