Former Serie A champions Milan have rejected Newcastle United’s initial approach for midfielder Sandro Tonali.
It has been reported that Milan have made an approach for the Rossoneri midfielder but it was reported earlier today that Newcastle will be keen on doubling Tonali’s wage. If the midfielder is interested in that offer, the clubs will then negotiate.
Daniele Longo has now reported that Newcastle are serious about the midfielder and they made an offer last week in the region of €55 million and €60 million for the Azzurri star. But Milan rejected that offer promptly but it is not excluded that Newcastle could increase their offer to come close to Milan’s asking price of €80 million.
As things stand, Tonali is not tempted by the idea of playing in England but depending on how much the Magpies offer, things could change.Â
It was reported last week that while a host of English sides are interested in Tonali, Milan are prepared to reject their advances and the player does not intend to depart the club either.
