Milan star Malick Thiaw’s injury said to be ‘serious’

Milan defender Malick Thiaw picked up a hamstring injury recently and the first assessment suggests that the injury is rather serious.

Thiaw trudged off the pitch yesterday during Milan’s game against Borussia Dortmund, as the Rossoneri conceded two goals right after the German went off. Milan had to play Rade Krunic at centre-back, as they lost 3-1 and their Champions League hopes are now well and truly in the balance.

Gianluca di Marzio has reported that Thiaw underwent medical tests in the morning today and it was revealed that he is suffering from a case of severe myotendinous lesion in the femoral biceps of his left thigh. And the injury is a rather serious one and further tests will be carried out in the next seven to ten days by the Rossoneri.

Thiaw had left the San Siro on crutches and as things stand, Stefano Pioli has only one defender fit in Fikayo Tomori and Thiaw, Simon Kjaer, Pierre Kalulu and Marco Pellegrino are all out of action.
