Napoli and Bologna interested in signing Federico Bernardeschi

Serie A sides Napoli and Bologna have shown a firm interest in securing the services of Federico Bernardeschi this summer.

According to a report by Daniele Longo, former Juventus winger Federico Bernardeschi is yearning to return to Italy and his agent has been working with Serie A clubs to materialise a potential transfer.

Bologna have emerged as the frontrunner in the race to sign the Fiorentina academy graduate and they are trying hard to land Bernardeschi within their ranks this summer. However, at this point, there is no agreement between the two parties.

As for Napoli, president Aurelio De Laurentiis likes the profile of the 29-year-old very much and knows that there are good chances of convincing the player’s current club Toronto FC of a season-long loan deal. The Partenopei are seriously evaluating the option as they will need an elegant and technical winger for the new season.

Since his transfer to the MLS in 2022, Toronto has hailed Bernardeschi as a leader on and off the pitch. The player would certainly love to come back to the team in the future but right now, he hopes for a comeback to European football.
