Napoli fail to reach agreement over new deal for Victor Osimhen in first meeting

Napoli president Aurelio de Laurentiis held a meeting with Victor Osimhen’s agent today and informed him about the Partenopei’s asking price for the striker.

Sky Italia state that Osimhen’s situation was discussed in detail in the meeting today. Osimhen’s agent Roberto Calenda was present and the meeting was a relaxed and peaceful one, with De Laurentiis offering to extend the Nigerian’s contract beyond the current expiry of 2025.

De Laurentiis informed Calenda that any potential suitors will have to match the €150 million asking price whereas the current suitors can’t offer more than €100 million so far.

When it comes to a potential renewal, an agreement was not reached. Napoli’s offer is not in line with what the player wants, with Osimhen knowing that he would earn a higher wage if he joins another club. The next step will involve Osimhen meeting Calenda and informing him about the developments. Further meetings between all the parties are also expected to take place to decide the 24-year-old’s future in Naples.
