Newly crowned Serie A Champions Napoli have now made contact for Paris Saint-Germain boss Christophe Galtier, with Luciano Spalletti set to depart.
Yesterday, the Partenopei had initiated contact with Julian Nagelsmann and they are currently scouring their options, with contacts for Vincenzo Italiano and Thiago Motta also underway after the option of Luis Enrique temporarily went cold.
Il Mattino today state that while Italiano remains in pole position to take over next season, Aurelio de Laurentiis is waiting for the UEFA Conference League final to formalise his contacts with Rocco Commisso, who has excellent relations with the Napoli CEO.
In the meantime, contact has also been made for Galtier. He, like Nagelsmann, is considered to be an expensive manager but someone whose profile interests De Laurentiis quite a lot. Since the club CEO is not giving away any hints about who he prefers to make the next manager, Galtier’s name has to be someone who could be considered a serious candidate.
Another man of interest if Fabio Cannavaro, who is a guest at the Maradona regularly and enjoys a good relationship with De Laurentiis. The club CEO is convinced that Cannavaro has the managerial abilities to succeed but no contact has been made so far.
Contact was made for Porto boss Sérgio Conceição as well but De Laurentiis is not keen on paying his release clause of €16 million.
