Napoli yet to contact potential Luciano Spalletti replacements

Napoli are yet to make contact with potential replacements for Luciano Spalletti, who is said to be heading to the Partenopei exit door.

It was reported yesterday that Spalletti wants to leave Napoli and there are numerous reasons for it. He clarified in the press conference later that he wants the club to reveal what went down in the dinner meeting involving him and CEO Aurelio de Laurentiis last week.

Il Mattino today state that De Laurentiis still has hope of convincing Spalletti to stay at the club and because of that, he hasn’t actively spoken to representatives of other managers. There are some names that he likes and those include Antonio Conte, Vincenzo Italiano and Thiago Motta but so far, they are only names on the shortlist.

De Laurentiis expects to have another meeting with Spalletti soon and that will decide whether the Napoli boss stay or leave. Spalletti has been told that if key players leave, they will be replaced properly, with Kim Min-Jae said to have an agreement with Manchester United over a summer move.

One of Spalletti’s other concerns centres around the exit of Cristiano Guintoli but De Laurentiis has made sure that he does not join Juventus. In other words, De Laurentiis is keen on making sure that he does whatever it takes to keep the Italian at the club.
