Napoli’s Victor Osimhen: “I want to help people with disabilities not just in Nigeria but in Africa”

Napoli striker Victor Osimhen has vowed to help people with disabilities in Africa and has expressed his gratitude for the work that Sadio Mane has done for the community.

Osimhen may be scoring loads of goals in Serie A and in the Champions League, but the Nigerian is known to be a humble personality who is keen on helping people back home in Africa. With the international break ongoing, Osimhen was recently at an event which involved the Nigerian press and he expressed his desire to help the disabled people in Africa.

The Napoli man stated (via Il Mattino) : “I am inspired by what Sadio Mane does for his people, even if mine will be a different project. He helps the Senegalese community and I want to help all the people with disabilities not just in Nigeria, but in Africa. I am ready to give life to my support project and I want to do everything in my power.”

Osimhen’s performances have made him quite popular amongst the local communities in Naples and it seems as if he is set to put a major foot forward in that regard and take his connection to his roots to the next level.

So far in the season, the Nigeria has scored 21 times in Serie A and he has four goals in the UEFA Champions League. In all competitions, he has racked up five headers. He has scored all kinds of goals and eight of his Serie A goals have been headers.

Recently, Osimhen equalled Samuel Eto’o’s record for the most number of goals in a single season by an African player in Serie A.
