Newcastle United test the waters for Inter’s Denzel Dumfries

Premier League side Newcastle United have tested the waters for Inter wing-back Denzel Dumfries.

La Gazzetta dello Sport have reported about Inter’s intentions about potentially selling players this summer and one of the players who is likely to leave is Dumfries himself. The demand for the Dutchman had risen during the World Cup but had fallen after his disappointing performances for Inter.

But interest in him has grown once again, with Newcastle having tested the waters for the wing-back. This comes after Aston Villa were concretely linked with the player some weeks ago and it was reported that contact between Dumfries’ entourage and Aston Villa was made. Chelsea and Manchester United were also linked with the Dutchman in the past but interest from them has faded in recent months.

Dumfries had joined Inter from PSV Eindhoven for a fee of €14 million and selling him for a considerable fee presents a comprehensive capital earning for the Nerazzurri.
