Newcastle Utdโ€™s Sandro Tonali after goalless draw against Milan: โ€œIโ€™ll remember it foreverโ€

Newcastle United midfielder Sandro Tonali has revealed that he will never forget his new clubโ€™s game against Milan at the San Siro in the Champions League.

The game turned out to be a goalless draw in which the Rossoneri missed a raft of good chances. Tonali started the game but was taken off later in the second half, as he returned to the San Siro months after having left Milan for a big-money fee to join the Premier League side.

The 23-year-old spoke to Sky Italia (via Gianluca di Marzio) after the game and revealed that it was a special occasion for him and he would never forget the game involving his current side and his boyhood club.

โ€œSan Siro? You expect it to be beautiful, but then itโ€™s always different. The match day is different and it went by quickerย . I enjoyed it all, minute by minute, Iโ€™ll remember it forever.โ€

Tonali also revealed that he still has a lot of passion for Milan and he can never hide it. He stated: โ€œAm I still linked to Milan?ย I donโ€™t want to answer you to please people but yes. I canโ€™t hide my passion for Milan, I didnโ€™t do it in Brescia and Iโ€™m not doing it in Newcastle. It would be useless and even bad to hide it.โ€

Tonali was given a standing ovation by the Milan fans when his name was announced and he was given a warm applause when he had gone off in the second half, which shows that there is still a special connection between him and the Rossoneri faithfuls.
