Roma defender Chris Smalling has signed a new deal with the Giallorossi, removing all the doubts about his future at the club.
The likes of Inter and Juventus were linked with a move for Smalling not long ago and there were doubts about whether he would sign a new deal with Roma, with Premier League sides also said to be previously interested.
The Giallorossi have now confirmed that the Englishman has signed a new deal till the summer of 2025. This comes after Smalling put in a Man of the Match performance for the club in their Europa League final against Sevilla, even if it ended in a loss on penalties.
Smalling has made 143 appearances and has scored ten goals in four seasons at Roma, helping them lift the first-ever UEFA Europa Conference League in 2022. He was also the Man of the Match in their Conference League final against Feyenoord, showing how vital he has been for the club.
