Inter veteran Samir Handanović has now departed the club, with the Nerazzurri now confirming the player’s exit.
It looks like the summer transfer window will see a fair amount of movement for Inter in the goalkeeping department, with Andre Onana now likely to join Manchester United. But Inter have now confirmed with Handanovic has departed after a lengthy spell at the San Siro.
It seems likely that with Onana’s sale, Inter will now sign two goalkeepers. One signing is expected to be a younger goalkeeper in Anatoliy Trubin and the second signing is expected to be a more experienced goalkeeper, amidst links with Hugo Lloris and Yann Sommer in recent weeks.
The veteran Slovenian Handanović joined Inter from Udinese in the summer of 2012. He played 455 times for Inter, winning the Coppa Italia multiple times and winning the Scudetto under Antonio Conte. Over time, his prominence between the sticks has reduced and he has now bid farewell.
