PLAYER RATINGS I Inter 1-0 Juventus

Inter are the first Coppa Italia finalists of the season as the Nerazzurri won 1-0 against Juventus tonight at San Siro in the semifinal second leg.

The game winning goal came in the first half on minute 15th when Nicolò Barella found Federico Dimarco at the penalty spot and the latter fired it past Mattia Perin with a cheeky left footed first time shot.

It felt like a walk in the park for Inter as Juventus struggled to create chances at all and only a big save from Perin on Henrikh Mkhitaryan allowed the Bianconeri to stay in the game until the very last minute.

The only matter of concern for Inter coach Simone Inzaghi has been Nicolò Barella’s condition – the midfielder seemed to have picked up a muscular problem but after making a gesture to the bench he went on playing for 10 minutes before being subbed off. After talking to the medical team, Barella himself reassured everyone about his condition.

This is Inter’s second Coppa Italia final in a row and they will be defending the trophy they won last season against the winner of the Fiorentina-Cremonese matchup, with La Viola winning 2-0 away in the first leg. The final will be played on May 24th at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome.

On top of that Inter are the first team to qualify for the brand new Supercoppa Italiana, a final four between the two Coppa Italia finalists and the teams that will finish on first and second position in Serie A this season, with the mini-tournament set to be played in Saudi Arabia in January 2024.
