PREDICTED LINE-UPS | Roma v Salernitana

After securing safe passage to the Europa League final, Roma will aim to qualify for Europe next season when they face lowly Salernitana at the Stadio Olimpico today.

Despite Bayer Leverkusen’s efforts in peppering the Roma goal in the second leg of the semi-final, Jose Mourinho’s park-the-bus tactics worked to their full potential as they could keep a clean sheet. Edoardo Bove’s goal from the first leg stood the difference between these two sides as the Giallorossi reached their second European final in a row. However, Roma are yet to consolidate their position in securing a European berth for next season. They haven’t been able to muster a single win in their last five league matches and anyone slip-ups in the business end of the season would prove costly for Mourinho’s men.

Meanwhile, Salernitana secured survival in the Serie A for next season by defeating Atalanta in their previous match. They are now eight points clear from 18th-placed Verona and will now hope to achieve the highest possible finish. Antonio Candreva’s added time goal against La Dea meant jubilation for the Granata fans. The Salerno-based side will continue their third consecutive season in the top flight of Italian football.

Here are the predicted line-ups for the match according to Sky Italia:

Roma (3-4-1-2): Patricio; Mancini, Cristante, Ibanez; Missori, Bove, Wijnaldum, Zalewski; Pellegrini; Solbakken, Belotti.

Salernitana (3-4-2-1): Ochoa; Lovato, Gyomber, Pirola; Mazzochi, Coulibaly, Vilhena, Bradaric; Candreva, Dia, Botheim.
