Scottish giants Rangers are edging close to signing Atalanta striker Sam Lammers this summer.
Lammers had joined Atalanta from PSV Eindhoven in the summer of 2020 and things haven’t worked out for him since. He has had loan spells at Eintracht Frankfurt and Sampdoria and was on loan at Empoli during the second half of the 2022/23 season.
TMW today claim that Rangers are edging close to signing the Dutchman and instead of heading out on loan, the striker will move to the Glasgow-based side on a permanent basis this summer.
In the 2022/23 season, Lammers scored a total of two goals for Empoli and Samp combined, also racking up two assists. He scored once in his loan stint at Eintracht Frankfurt too, but he scored twice during his first season at La Dea, showing a fair amount of promise.
He had spent a loan season at Heerenveen back in the 2018/19 campaign and he had found the back of the net 16 times back then.
