There is now a rising uncertainty about Luciano Spalletti’s stay at Napoli, with a coldness appearing in the relationship between the manager and club chief Aurelio de Laurentiis.
Il Mattino have reported about the future of Spalletti today, stating that an ‘iron curtain’ exists between Spalletti and De Laurentiis. The club CEO is trying his best to convince the Napoli manager, having had a dinner meeting with the Partenopei boss some days ago but the situation is getting worse and something seems wrong.
With passing time, difficulties are increasing. De Laurentiis is calm about the situation and he is waiting for the meeting between him and Spalletti, having never considered potential alternatives such as Antonio Conte, Gian Piero Gasperini and Christophe Galtier.
The pair did meet several times yesterday and they even had coffee together, but only for a few minutes. The relationship between them is said to be quite ‘formal’ and therein lies the problem about his future. If the relationship between the two was deeper, it would have been much easier to sort out this problem. But as things stand, the situation seems to be getting tense.
