Roma boss Jose Mourinho reveals club can sign another striker

Roma boss Jose Mourinho has made it clear that the club will sign another striker after the arrival of Sardar Azmoun is announced.

Azmoun is on the verge of being announced as the Roma player after he arrived in the city yesterday and underwent medicals with the Giallorossi, ahead of an initial loan move. But Roma have been linked with multiple other names and that includes Romelu Lukaku, whose arrival still remains a possibility.

Ahead of Roma’s Serie A game against Verona, Mourinho spoke to the press about the possibility of signing another striker and the Portuguese said:

“When the director told me about Azmoun he also told me that another striker would arrive. I’m waiting, I’m happy if someone else of quality arrives.”

Roma have already made first contact for Lukaku, with Chelsea now opening up to the possibility of letting him leave on a dry loan deal after an attempt to sell him to Juventus failed. Tammy Abraham is out injured because of an ACL issue for Roma and while Andrea Belotti did score a brace against Salernitana, him and Azmoun are the only two striker options.
