Roma make loan approach for West Ham’s Gianluca Scamacca

West Ham striker Gianluca Scamacca has been the subject of a loan approach from Roma.

Gianluca di Marzio has reported that with Tammy Abraham not out for about eight to nine months due to an ACL injury, Roma are now looking for a new striker this summer. That is why they see Scamacca as a potential target for the window, with the striker not having the best of times under David Moyes at West Ham.

Contacts between the two clubs have been made, with Roma having asked for a loan deal from the Hammers. Juventus have also been linked with a move for the Azzurri forward in recent weeks.

Scamacca joined West Ham from Sassuolo last summer and he has played 27 times in all competitions so far, scoring eight times in all competitions and five of them have come in the Conference League. Injury issues have been a problem for him, as he has struggled to break into the first team.
