Roma postpone meeting with Jose Mourinho’s agents

Roma owners have recently postponed a meeting with those close to Jose Mourinho’s agent Jorge Mendes.

Carlo Laudisa, who reports reliably from those around Mendes, has reported that Hugo Valdir and Luis Correia – two agents who work closely with the Portuguese super-agent, were at Trigoria yesterday. They did meet Mourinho and wanted to speak to the Friedkins about the future of the manager. But the Giallorossi owners postponed the meeting.

It is stated that even Mourinho is oscillating between staying at Roma or heading to new project elsewhere. The first signs arrived in the summer when Chelsea were linked with a move for the Roma boss, but those rumours were essentially initiated by Mendes. West Ham were keenly interested but Mourinho wasn’t keen. He would have much rather moved to Newcastle United.

In January, Mourinho had asked for a meeting with the Friedkins but the club owners postponed it even then. The delays and rumours are now distracting Mourinho, in whom the Saudi Arabian national team was also interested but nothing materialised. Links did emerge with Real Madrid but nothing concrete came of it, despite Florentino Perez’s club facing ups and downs with Carlo Ancelotti.

But the more likely possibility regarding his future happens to be Paris Saint-Germain, with Mourinho’s name amongst a lot of others that are on the shortlist. Luis Campos is a big admirer of Mourinho and reflections are underway at PSG’s Qatari ownership.
