Serie A side Roma are now set to seal the signing of Leeds United’s Spanish centre-back Diego Llorente.
Gianluca di Marzio has reported that the Giallorossi have already sealed the deal for the Spain international, who will arrive as a surprise signing this month. The player will move to the Italian capital side on an initial loan and the Giallorossi have the option to buy him permanently. An agreement has been found with Leeds already.
Llorente had signed a new deal with Leeds only in December but his arrival has been unblocked by the initial loan exit of Matias Vina to Bournemouth. Llorente is a product of the Real Madrid youth academy and had joined the Whites from Real Sociedad in 2020.
The 29-year-old has made eight Premier League appearances for Leeds this season, playing thrice in the FA Cup. He had played 28 league games last season, scoring 3 goals as well.
