Serie A giants Roma are currently said to be taking time for a renewal for manager Jose Mourinho.
Recently, Mourinho spoke about his future at Roma and he stated that if he leaves the club at the end of the season, it wonโt be because of himself. It showed a clear willingness from him regarding a decision to sign a new contract.
La Repubblica state today that while Mourinho remains keen on signing a new deal, the clubโs owners are taking their time on handing him a contract. The process remains โfrozenโ for now, as the Friedkins are keen on focusing on the clubโs results before making a final decision.
They expect the club to finish inside the top four as they believe that they have spent a considerable amount under Mourinho and they want returns. No meetings have been scheduled regarding a new deal and there is a possibility that if results go downhill, Mourinhoโs job could be at stake.
Mourinho hopes that a renewal takes place but despite his willingness, the Giallorossi are taking time and are keeping an eye on the results closely.
