Roma unlikely to sign Leeds’ Diego Llorente permanently

Roma have made the decision that they will not sign Leeds’ Diego Llorente permanently at the end of his ongoing loan spell.

Llorente had joined the Whites on an initial loan deal in January and the loan deal expires at the end of the current season. Marco Conterio has reported that the Giallorossi have the option to buy him permanently for a fee of €18 million.

Conterio goes on to report that it is quite unlikely that Roma exercise that option to buy and they will allow the Spaniard to head back to Elland Road in the summer. It is stated that the management at Leeds is already in contact with those at Villarreal regarding the permanent sale of the defender, who is quite liked by the Yellow Submarines.

So far this season, the 29-year-old has made five Serie A appearances this season and in recent weeks, he has become a regular figure at the back for Jose Mourinho’s side.
