Roma manager Jose Mourinho has picked up a two-match suspension following his red card against Cremonese and the legal procedures that have followed.
Sky Italia claim that Mourinho will not be available on the bench for Romaโs upcoming games against Sassuolo and Lazio. The decision came after the hearing at the FIGCโs Court of Appeal which rejected the appeal against the two-match ban imposed on Mourinho after his expulsion in Cremona.
Last Saturday, the panel had temporarily suspended the sanction pending a supplementary investigation and today, it was instead called to decide whether to confirm, reduce or cancel the suspension imposed on the Special One. The lawyers of the Giallorossi were also present with the Portuguese, who arrived in Via Campania almost an hour before the hearing.
Meanwhile, referee Marco Serra has decided not to negotiate and to be heard. Yesterday, the FIGC public prosecutorโs office notified the referee of the conclusions of the investigation, announcing his referral.ย The public prosecutorโs office, whose investigation arose from Mourinhoโs statements, notified Serra of the deed, contesting the violation of article 4 of the Sports Justice Code and the Hague Code of Conduct.
