Romelu Lukaku to push Chelsea for Inter return

Belgian striker Romelu Lukaku is set to push Chelsea for his return to Inter in the ongoing summer transfer window.

La Gazzetta dello Sport state today that Lukaku only wants to play for the Nerazzurri next season and that is a key reason for why he rejected an approach from Saudi Arabia. Inter sporting director Piero Ausilio had a meeting with Chelsea in London and Lukaku followed the developments closely, as he wants the move as quickly as possible.

While he faced disappointment in Ausilio’s meeting with his current club, he is now ready to push for a return to Inter. The fact that his representatives – Roc Nation, have excellent relations with Todd Boehly will help his motive.

A bilateral meeting involving Lukaku and Chelsea is scheduled and in that, the striker will express his desperate wish to leave and join Inter. The Nerazzurri are hoping that this helps them in making sure that they speak to a Chelsea who are more open minded about the Belgian’s situation.

Lukaku wants to replace Edin Dzeko, who will likely leave for Turkey and even though Inter have no hurries to complete a move like last summer due to tax reasons, he still wants the move to go through quickly.
