Corriere Della Sera have reported that Salernitana are waiting on Spursโ young Senegalese midfielder Pape Matar Sarr as they look to strengthen in the January transfer window.
Sarr is a signing which will have Salernitana fans dreaming, due to the fact the Tottenham youngster is believed to have extremely high potential.
Having signed for Spurs as an 18-year-old, Sarr hasnโt quite excelled to date, making only two appearances for the club, totalling 34โฒ minutes.
He did however spend the 2021/22 season on loan at Metz in which he enjoyed regular game time, making 33 appearances for the club, averaging a 6.8 rating according to SofaScore.
A loan move for Sarr would likely be welcomed by the hierarchy at The Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, who would be eager for Sarr to gain more experience playing at a first team level. Game time which he is unlikely to get at Spurs, with midfielders ahead of him such as Rodrigo Bentancur and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.
